The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and a notable figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike has openly expressed his satisfaction in working with President Bola Tinubu’s administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
Wike, the only member of the opposition party in Tinubu’s cabinet, shared his views on August 31 during the PDP Congress held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
During his address, Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, emphasized that he has no regrets about his decision to serve in the current administration, despite facing criticism from various quarters.
He firmly stated his contentment with his role and his commitment to continue working in Tinubu’s government.
“We are fully in government. We are fully in Tinubu’s government. I have no regrets about it, and I will continue to be there. Anybody who is angry should go and hug a transformer,” Wike said, underscoring his unapologetic stance.
Wike’s appointment as the FCT Minister has sparked debates, with many attributing his ministerial role to his perceived support for Tinubu’s victory in Rivers State during the 2023 presidential election.
His decision to align with the APC government has led to mixed reactions, particularly within his party, the PDP, where some members view his move as a departure from the opposition’s stance.
Despite this, Wike remains resolute and unyielding in his choice to collaborate with Tinubu’s administration.
